Angel’s Law

Angel’s Law

The Arizona Legislature adjourned Sine Die early yesterday evening. I’m working on scheduling a Coffee with Kate to do a comprehensive Legislative Wrap Up for the district. Keep your eyes peeled for the invitation.

I wanted to take a quick moment to share Laurie Robert’s article about Angel’s Law. Angel’s Law is a bill I’ve been working on for the past couple sessions with DCS Director Greg McKay. This year we got it across the finish line! Angel’s Law provides further protections for abused children who …

Dirty Campaigning III

Dirty Campaigning III

“And you know I will continue to run a positive campaign.”

Yesterday, KidsCare open enrollment began. It will be effective September 1st. This was my proudest legislative effort last session. I …

KidsCare on way to Governor’s desk

KidsCare on way to Governor’s desk

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

One of my biggest priorities and greatest rewards is to provide a voice for the vulnerable children of our great state. Yesterday I stood on the Floor of the House and motioned to allow additional amendments from the floor on pending bills. We were successful in passing that motion. Working closely with Representative Heather Carter and Representative Regina Cobb, we amended SB1457 with language to reinstate KidsCare for children of low-income adults. This vital piece of legislation will expand health care access …
