An issue this session that received the most attention was restoring Arizona’s KidsCare program to provide healthcare coverage for children of low income families. I led a group of resolute Republicans to revive the stalled legislation, secure the votes in both houses and pass KidsCare – reinstating healthcare coverage to 30,000 uninsured Arizona children, lost during the Great Recession, at no extra cost to Arizona. Yesterday, KidsCare open enrollment began. It will be effective September 1st. This was my proudest legislative effort last session. I worked with Rep. Gina Cobb, Senator Adam
Yesterday, KidsCare open enrollment began. It will be effective September 1st. This was my proudest legislative effort last session. I worked with Rep. Gina Cobb, Senator Adam Driggs and Republican colleagues to bring KidsCare back up for reconsideration, get it through opposition at both the House and Senate, and up to the Governor’s desk where he immediately signed the bill into law. KidsCare exemplifies the importance of effective, decisive leadership in the Legislative process rather than the just vote “No” attitude.
Throughout this campaign you will hear my opponent claiming many of my victories as his own. I believe voters in our district will see through that false narrative and understand the importance of a leader who will continue to fight for our state’s most vulnerable populations. My campaign is about representation with positive results rather than negative posturing. That remains my commitment if elected to the State Senate.
