Legislative District 28 needs a state senator who walks the walk. If you believe child safety, education and health care are important issues, then Kate Brophy McGee is the only choice for state Senate.
Kate led the floor fight to restore KidsCare to ensure low-income children had access to quality, affordable insurance. Her opponent talked about the need to restore the program, but it was Kate who found a way to do it. On education, she was a strong supporter of Proposition 123 to invest $3.5 billion in our education system over the next 10 years. Her opponent talks about wanting to invest more dollars but opposed Prop. 123 and voted against referring it to the ballot.
Kate successfully passed legislation to improve our child-safety system, including bills to increase transparency at the Department of Child Safety, to continue the Foster Care Review Boards, to increase the speed of adoptions and make the process less burdensome on the adoptive parents.
Her opponent talks about what is wrong at DCS without offering solutions to help these children at risk. As they say, talk is cheap.
That’s why I’m voting for Kate Brophy McGee for State Senate.
— Susan Gerard, former state senator
